Shaker Rd Accident victim identified

WESTFIELD – A man is dead after a car accident that occurred at around 2:38 a.m. Saturday on Shaker Road between Kosinski Farm and the main entrance of Shaker Farm Golf Course. Matthew Osienski, 29, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was traveling easterly on Shaker Road.  He lost control of the vehicle as it started to negotiate a curve.  The vehicle then slid sideways across the westbound lane, left the roadway and hit a tree on the passenger side. The operator, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene.  The roadway was closed for approximately four hours. State police arrived around 4:15 a.m. and the medical examiner was notified. The crash is being investigated by the Westfield Police Department Traffic Bureau with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
