
ESTERO, FL – Gail E. Fedora-Hines, 78, of Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Naples, Florida. Born on February 3, 1947, in Westfield, Massachusetts, Gail was the daughter of the late John E. and Florence R. (née Fournier) Fedora. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Westfield, MA, and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1969.
Gail began her professional career as a special needs educator then became a substitute teacher in the Bonita Springs and Fort Myers school districts. In 1973, Gail transitioned to the Avis Rental Car Company, where she worked as a counter agent trainer. In 1988, she continued her career with Avis at the Naples Airport. Later, she joined the Florida State Lottery as a lottery sales representative, covering Marco Island to Fort Myers for ten years before retiring in 2000.
Gail was known for her warmth, strength, and dedication to everything she was involved in. As a 25-year breast cancer survivor, she faced life’s challenges with grace and perseverance. The love and devotion she had for her family was unwavering. She had a great fondness for birds and enjoyed cooking, painting, and knitting, just to name a few of her hobbies. She loved to share her creativity with family and friends; it brought her great joy.
Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Robert G. Hines of Estero, FL; and their two cherished children, Bryan J. Hines of Estero and Gina L. Hines of Naples, both adopted from Guatemala. She also leaves behind her sisters, Susan Marie Fedora of Tempe, AZ, and Marcia Lynn Fedora of Boca Raton, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Donald John Fedora and Kevin Joseph Fedora and her sister, Carol Jean Waite (Fedora).
