Genevieve M. Lazzara

WESTFIELD – Genevieve M (Siniscalchi) Lazzara (1927-2024), 97, passed away the morning of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024 surrounded by her family. We’re sure she didn’t want her daughters to miss the family Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes and Christmas celebrations. Chick was born on October 1, 1927 to Natalina (Manzi) and Vincenzo Siniscalchi. She grew up in the south end of Springfield MA. On April 19, 1947 she married the love of her life, Ralph Lazzara who predeceased her in 2000.

Ralph and Chick moved to Westfield MA for his business, Osley & Whitney, in 1964 with their four daughters, Susan Warren (Carl), Julie Scarfo (Joseph), Donna Kelley (Paul) and Lisa Sarabaez. Chick hated being away from her large Italian family. She would drive back to Springfield several times a week to visit them. She was the proud grandmother to Matthew Warren (Denise), Carla Warren Montemayor, Alicia Malbin (Ian), Christina Raco (Brian), Jeffrey Scarfo, Michael Kelley (Christen), Natalie Metz, Rebecca Pescitelli (Joseph), Alfredo (Fred) Sarabaez (Brianne) and Justin Sarabaez (Shaina Cunningham).

Chick and Ralph loved their home in Dennisport MA where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms and lots of food. Chick also loved living in Orlando FL down the hall from her sister and best friend Agnes. Chick moved to Armbrook Village in Westfield in 2018. She enjoyed her life there and loved “her girls”. She adored her 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She leaves many nieces and nephews, especially Carol McCarthy and Grace Bibens who were like daughters. Chick is survived by her brother Tullio Siniscalchi. She was predeceased by her siblings Michael Siniscalchi, Antonio Siniscalchi, Agnes Phillips, Philomena Bolduc, Silvio Siniscalchi and her son-in-law Joseph Scarfo.

Her daughters would like to thank the staff at Armbrook Village for the love and care they gave Chick; Brookhaven Hospice for their help and support and Joanne Graydon for always making her so happy. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11AM in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Highway, West Springfield, MA. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10-11AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Chick’s memory to St Mary’s Church. www.firtionadams.com
