Granville Fire Department looking for volunteers

GRANVILLE – The Granville Fire Department is seeking for volunteers to join their EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) department. On Feb. 23, the Granville Fire Department sent out a post on their Facebook Page to let Granville residents know that the departments was seeking EMT’s and firefighters.

According to Fire Chief Matt Ripley, the department is focusing more on filling EMT positions. Ripley stated that, while all Granville firefighters must be Granville residents, EMTs who are interested in joining the department can be from town or out of town.

Granville EMT’s will have the opportunity to respond to emergencies, conduct trainings, and do community visits. All EMT’s will also be able to attend training that is done by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.

The Granville Fire Department responds to around 170 calls year and encourages any interested individuals to stop by the Granville Fire Department any Tuesday at 7 p.m. or call at 413-357-8572.
