SOUTHWICK – The 3rd Annual Southwick Home & Business Show is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at Town Hall and will feature demonstrations, speakers, and lots of information.
The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Southwick businesses and organizations will be exhibiting. The event is hosted by the Southwick Economic Development Commission (EDC),
EDC Chairman Michael McMahon said this is a great opportunity for local businesses to share information with area residents in an informal, no pressure setting.
“The last two years we have had everything from beauty salons and banks to massage therapy and chiropractors,” McMahon said.
The EDC welcomes all Southwick businesses at the show.
“Last year we had a manufacturing business come to let high school students and their parents know that there are well-paid, local manufacturing jobs in the area and there is training available,” McMahon said.
The show is limited to 35 vendors because of the size of the space. McMahon said the event was resurrected in 2011 after a nine-year hiatus with much success.
“With the recession, a lot of businesses were hurting a bit, and there are a lot of new people who have moved into Southwick in the past eight or 10 years and we wanted to highlight what Southwick businesses have to offer,” said McMahon.
Visitors to the event are encouraged to bring an item to donate to the Southwick Food Pantry.
