Hough steadies Rams

SOUTHWICK – Southwick-Tolland senior golfer Jake Hough continued his consistently solid play, and the Rams’ golf team edged Hampshire at Edgewood, 14-10, Thursday.
Huff shot a par-36 to claim three of four points in the top spot, after shooting a 35 Tuesday.
“He’s been playing really well,” Southwick coach Al Selden said.
Robert Hamel shot a 45 to net four points at the fourth position for Southwick. Rams’ freshman Chris Molta, needing 1 ½ points to secure the team victory, took three points with a 47.

Monson 16, Westfield Voc-Tech 8
WESTFIELD – Westfield Voc-Tech’s Reid Phillips and Antonio Rivera won their matches, but unfortunately for the Tigers, Monson’s Robert Scikelli shot an incredible round of 36 to best Matt King’s solid 41 in the Mustangs 16-8 victory Thursday at East Mountain Country Club.
Phillips shot a 47. Philips had a 54.
Jake Parsons shot a 45 for Voc-Tech (1-5).
In other matches, St. Mary hosted Easthampton at Tekoa Country Club. No report was provided.
