Iris Brown

Westfield – Iris was born in Soladad, Cuba on June 20, 1926. She also lived in Jamaica and then immigrated to the United States on February 11, 1961. Iris married Rodney Brown, now deceased, on July 13, 1963. Rodney was a loving father. Iris and Rodney enjoyed a long marriage and ministry together.  For many years Iris and Rodney Brown were very involved in prison ministry, pastoring their own church and evangelizing. Iris was one of the first occupants of The Arbors in Westfield, MA. She continued to live there until shortly before her death. Iris made friends where ever she went. She enjoyed church, singing, dancing and being the center of attention where ever she was. Her laugh was contagious. All who knew Iris will miss her. Iris is survived by one son, Glen White of Holyoke, a daughter Linnett Davila of Georgia, daughter Pauline Morgan of Georgia and niece Pearl Grant of Hartford, CT. Iris is also survived by granddaughter, Mackenzie Chouinard of Holyoke along with many other nieces, nephews and grandchildren.All of the staff at the Arbors are to be commended for their care for Iris. Iris leaves her good friend Wendy Peterson and family and her Pastor and wife, Gene & Kelly Pelkey of New Life Worship Center of Westfield, MA. Iris leaves a legacy of God’s faithfulness to her throughout her life.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Feb 24 from 1-2 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad, Westfield. A service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday at 12 noon in Pine Hill Cemetery. Firtionadams.com
