COSTA RICA: James H. Prouty, Sr., 80, (1940-2021) passed away at Hospital Mexico in Costa Rica on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for roses and his immense love and compassion for all animals.
Jim was born to Edna and Robert Prouty on December 4, 1940. He is survived by his wife Blanca Rosa Varela Badilla of Costa Rica, a son, James H. Prouty, Jr. and his fiancée, Robin Houle Alberti, of Southampton, MA and a daughter, Charlene Webster, and her husband, Ronald Webster, Jr., of Ellington, CT. He also leaves behind his brothers, Robert Prouty of Springfield, MA; Gordon Prouty and his wife, Mary Prouty of Oakdale, CT; his grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Cody, Emma, Sophia, Chloe; his great-grandchildren, Tristan, Brady, Mattison, and Nathan; nieces, Lori Prouty of Haines City, FL and Cheryl Brown of Montgomery, MA; step-children, Denise Maloney, of Palm Springs CA, Brenda Carron-Lang, of Belchertown, MA, and Frederick Michael Micks, of Massillon, OH.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Prouty, in 2013, his mother, Edna Pelkey, in 2017, his twin brother, John E. Prouty, in 2001; and his niece, Johnna Prouty Hayden, in 2014.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
