WESTFIELD – Jane M. Sturmer, 77, died Saturday March 9, 2013 in a local nursing home. Born and raised in Westfield, Jane was a graduate of Westfield High School and Our Lady of Elms College.
She was a retired 30 year teacher in the Foreign Language Department at Southwick High School. She tutored privately after her retirement. Jane was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. She loved all animals and enjoyed feeding her neighborhood animals for many years. She also traveled to Spain with her high school students.
She leaves her brother, William B. Sturmer of Westfield; two nephews, Alan of Turners Falls and Greg of Westfield; her niece, Amy B. of Westfield; her devoted friend, Atty. Mary Keenan of Southwick, and many friends and extended family.
A private service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery with burial to follow. The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, Westfield, is entrusted with her arrangements.
