Jean M. (Porowski) Midura

WESTFIELD – Jean M. (Porowski) Midura, 90, died at Baystate Noble in Westfield, MA. She was born in Three Rivers on April 25, 1932 and grew up in Chicopee, the daughter of the late Alice (Pawlikowski) and Walter Porowski.

Jean was a long-time communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield. Jean was pre-deceased in 1999 by her loving husband of 46 years, Alfred Midura. Jean and Al were high school sweethearts and married in 1953. Together they raised 3 children. Jean and Al enjoyed many trips together to Aruba, Hawaii, Florida, California and Wyoming as well as the Midura family cottage on Hamilton reservoir. Jean had worked at the Slip Shop in Chicopee prior to getting married, was co-owner of the former Budget Food Market on Meadow Street for 20 years and worked at Westfield Gas and Electric until her retirement in 1984. Jean enjoyed sewing and making lovely quilts, creating beautiful ceramics, playing bingo with her friends.

Jean is survived by her loving children Gary Midura of Westfield, Sandra Sienkiewicz (Paul) of Evansville, WY and Steven Midura (David Kordana) of St. Petersburg, FL. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jill Midura, Gregory Midura, Amanda Gaulin (Sam), Adam Midura, Amy Costales (Jeff), Daniel Sienkiewicz, Bryan Midura and great grandchild Bryson Alvarado. She will be missed by her brother Walter Porowski, Jr (Cynthia) and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm and Thursday July 14, 2022, 8:30am-9:30 am at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 am.
