Jessica L. Mavis

WESTFIELD – Jessica Lynn Mavis June 20, 1984 – September 2, 2019. It is with profound sadness that the family of Jessica Lynn Mavis, of Westfield, announce her passing from this life. Jessica succumbed to her long and brave battle with brain cancer on Monday, September 2nd, while surrounded by family. She was 35 years young. Jessica was born and raised in Westfield and was a baptized member of the Pioneer Valley Assembly of God. She was employed at various jobs throughout her life. Most recently Westfield Bank, CVS Franklin Street, and INSA Easthampton. Jessica was a dedicated Aunt. She cherished her many nieces and nephews and took great joy in spending time making memories with them. Often giving them small, thoughtful tokens of love for the purpose of recalling special days or events. Jessica made friends everywhere she went. She was lovable, kind, and sweet. She treated everyone with respect and compassion. She loved her cats, penguins, driving with no particular destination while listening to her favorite music, day trips and vacations with her sisters, and most importantly laughing. Anyone who knew Jessica knows it is hard to recall her without a smile on her face and a giggle on her lips, regardless of whatever struggle she was facing. She was love and light – brave and strong! Jessica will be forever remembered with much love by her surviving family members. Mother, Susan (Paroline) Mavis of Westfield. Sisters, Jennifer (Mavis) Wetherell and husband David of Maryland. Sarah Mavis and fiancé Thomas Craig of Connecticut. Brother, Christian Mavis of Massachusetts. She also leaves behind a bevy of adoring nieces and nephews who will forever hold Jessica close to their hearts. Kaitlin (Mavis) Avila and her husband Adam, Kiari Mavis, Jacob Wetherell, Kareem Mavis, Nathan Brown, Tasheem Mavis, Nicholas Mavis, and Sydney Mavis. And five great nephews; Jordan, Aiden, Colton, KJ, and Roman. Her grandmothers, Joyce (Palecki) Paroline of Westfield and Virginia (Fasciglione) Mavis of Agawam. Jessica was predeceased by her father, Stephen Anthony Mavis. Her grandmother, Lillian (Rodriguez) Paroline-Gluck. And her grandfathers, Richard Gerald Paroline and Eugene Anthony Mavis. Family and friends are invited to join us from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm for visitation followed by a memorial service at Firtion Adams Funeral Home located at 76 Broad Street in Westfield. Burial will take place the following day at 9:30 am, Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield – King Street Extension entrance. Flowers are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to… yourself. Honor Jessica by taking your young ones who love you and cherish you out for an ice cream cone. Be silly, laugh, and love each other. Make memories. Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things and our time here is a gift. Firtionadams.com
