Joan Landry

joan Landry PicBOSTON – Joan Landry, 71, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Russell, MA on August 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Middleton) McGlynn.
She attended local schools graduating from Westfield High School with the class of 1960. Joan was employed most of her life as a secretary working for various companies throughout New England. She was a long time EMT volunteer in NH with both the Richmond Rescue Squad and the Winchester Ambulance. Joan was very artistic whose passions included cross stitching and painting landscapes. She was an active volunteer and guest speaker on behalf of the American Lung Association. Joan also loved to spend time on the beach.
She leaves her beloved husband of 18 years, Paul N. Landry and her four children, Daniel R Bigda and his wife Andrea, Sharon D Bigda-Begin and her husband Will, Lisa A Bigda-Hewett and her husband Perry, and Dawn-Marie Gehrung and her husband Jeff. Joan also leaves fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, Patrick F McGlynn Jr and Robert McGlynn and two sisters; Mary A Sullivan and Kathleen R. McGlynn along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Joan will take place Friday, November 8th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street (Route 20), Westfield. A graveside service will take place on Saturday November 9th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Mary’s Cemetery, also in Westfield.
