John H. St. Germain, Jr.

WESTFIELD:  John H. St. Germain Jr., 65, (1949-2015)  passed away suddenly January 29, 2015 while vacationing in the Bahamas with his wife. He was born December 16, 1949 in Gardner, MA. John was educated in Gardner schools, graduating from Gardner High School where he played baseball and football. He went on to college attending Fitchburg State University where he had a try at professional baseball before he entered the U.S. Army where he worked for the NATO Strike Force. After a Honorable Discharge, John attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he earned his degree. While attending school, John worked part time as a bartender at the Foster House in Westfield. He also coached Little League baseball and youth football in Westfield. After graduation, he worked at a private boarding school in the Berkshires for troubled youths for a period of time. In 1979, John went to work at Mestek, the former Sterling Radiator. John was a pitcher in the Westfield adult softball league for several years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and watching many sports but was an avid fan of both the Red Sox and Patriots. Most of all he loved to travel with his wife and has been to South America, Central America, Jamaica, the British Virgin Islands, and the last number of years was spent on the out islands of the Bahamas. He leaves his loving wife of 35 years, Alberta St Germain of Westfield; a stepson Michael Keesee of Agawam; a daughter Brittney St Germain of Arlington, MA; 4 grandchildren, Alecia, Mya, Owen, and Ian; along with a brother Mark St Germain of FL. Calling hours for John will take place Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St (Rt 20), Westfield from 4-6 pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
