WESTFIELD: Juanita D. Slaughter, 85, died Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Union City Tennessee on April 26, 1936 to the late Samuel and Dora (Boyd) Brann. She has lived in TN, MI and OH before moving to Westfield in 1979. She worked in the nursing field and was a greeter at Walmart for many years. She enjoyed spending time in her yard with her flowers. She was a member of the Woman’s Club and the Central Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Slaughter, Sr. in 2013. She leaves her son Robert L. Slaughter, Jr. and her daughter Evangaline L. Slaughter both of Westfield. She also leaves her grandchildren Samuel Slaughter, Cecilia Ayers and Lawrence Slaughter, Nathan Swanson and Sean O’Keefe; her sister Carry Parchman of Niles, MI. She was predeceased by her daughters Tammy Slaughter in 2017 and Angela Slaughter in 2019 and her brother Jerry Brann in 2021.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 6th at 11 am from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11 am. Firtionadams.com
