Saturday, June 30, 2012
6:07 a.m.: fire, Little River Road, a patrol officer reports he was flagged down and his attention was directed to smoke coming from behind a residence, dual response dispatched, the officer reports he found a person burning debris as he cleaned up property belonging to a recently deceased relative, the officer reports the man was cooperative and extinguished the fire upon request;
1:17 p.m.: found property, Danek Drive, a caller reports finding an old .22 caliber rifle in a field, the responding officer reports he took custody of a rusted and inoperable rifle and transported it to the station for destruction;
4:29 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Delmont Avenue at East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
5:56 p.m.: fire, Lindbergh Boulevard, a caller reports a tree is on fire, the responding firefighters report a trash barrel was burning and had ignited a picket fence and maple tree, in addition, plastic parts of a car parked near the trash barrel were melted, the fire was extinguished, the resident told firefighters that cigarette butts had been dumped into the barrel prior to the fire;
8:05 p.m.: weather complaint, Sackett Road, a caller reports a fallen tree is blocking the street, the responding officer requests that a DPW crew respond, a crew was dispatched and the roadway was reported to have reopened at 9:26 p.m.;
9:13 p.m.: liquor law violation, Stanley Park, 400 Western Avenue, a community policing officer reports a person was found to be in possession of liquor;
9:47 p.m.: fire, Emerald Avenue, a caller reports a fire, the responding firefighters report a bonfire was found at an address firefighters have responded to for similar fires previously, the firefighters report they thoroughly extinguished the fire;

12:35 a.m.: disturbance, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a patrol officer reports finding several persons swimming in the river, the officer reports the swimmers were advised of the possible legal consequences of their actions and sent on their ways;
9:57 a.m.: found property, Lozier Avenue, a caller reports finding a child’s bicycle on her tree belt, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
10:52 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired and non-renewable registration, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
1:04 p.m.: vandalism, St. Pierre Lane, a caller reports his vehicle was vandalized overnight while it was parked in his driveway, the responding officer reports the caller said that the vehicle was parked about 1:30 a.m. and about 12:50 p.m. he found that a side mirror had been broken off the vehicle;
1:41 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he discovered that the registration of a vehicle parked at a Springfield Road department store had been revoked for lack of insurance, the officer reports that the store management allowed the car to remain in the lot, the registration plates were seized;
2:35 p.m.: animal complaint, Farnham Lane, a caller reports a sick skunk is walking in circles in her yard, the responding officer reports the animal was disorientated and sick, the skunk was dispatched and a use of force form was filed;
2:46 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and non-renewable, the, the vehicle was towed;
3:20 p.m.: assist citizen, Morris Street, a caller reports he is trying to gather his possessions and his former girlfriend is creating a scene, the respond officer reports the man removed most of his property, both parties were advised of their protective order options and the man was advised to call police before returning for the rest of his property;
4:46 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
5:49 p.m.: disturbance, St. Paul Street, a caller reports her 11-year-old son is creating a disturbance, the responding officer reports that the woman said the boy is in violation of a Child In Need of Service order and broke up furniture which he threw at his mother, the boy was arrested for being delinquent by reason of assault with a dangerous weapon and vandalizing property;
7:18 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
8:29 p.m.: larceny, East Silver Street, a resident came to the station to report a stolen wallet, the responding officer reports the caller said that she left her wallet in her residence while she was away and found it missing upon her return, the officer reports there were no signs of forcible entry;
8:57 p.m.: fireworks complaint, Mechanic Street, a caller reports her neighbors are launching fireworks and have an uncontained fire, the responding officer reports he found no fireworks and a small fire was extinguished.
