12:11 a.m.; fire, Franklin Avenue, a caller reports unauthorized burning, the responding firefighters report a resident was asked to extinguish a back yard camp fire;
7:03 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Russellville Road, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a revoked license, the vehicle was towed;
9:13 a.m.: breaking and entering, William Street, a caller reports two vehicles were broken into overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that two vehicle parked behind the condominium complex were entered overnight and the GPS devices were stolen from each vehicle;
9:43 a.m.; fraud, Ridgecrest Drive, a resident came to the station to report fraudulent debits from his checking account, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he was notified by his bank that debits from his checking account totaling more than $600 had been made in Michigan although his debit card has not been out of his possession, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
11:43 a.m.: disturbance, Woodmont Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her husband produced a pistol during a family argument the night before, the responding officer reports the complainant’s daughter said that the night before her step-father had produced a pistol during an argument about her boyfriend but did not point it at anybody, the officer sought the man and found him at his home, William J. O’Connell, 56, of 99 Woodmont St., was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime and assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
12:08 p.m.: larceny, Princeton Street, a caller reports someone is entering his home at night and stealing property, the responding office reports that during conversation with the complainant he discovered the man to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Mathew Wright, 29, of 21 Princeton St., was arrested on the warrant;
1:33 p.m.: unwanted guest, Church Street, a caller reports a person he has allowed to stay at his residence despite a “no trespassing” order issued by his landlord has threatened him, the responding officer reports the suspect was found in a common area, David J. Mitchell, 30, of 44 Church St., was arrested for trespass;
2:23 p.m.: fraud, Lady Slipper Circle, a resident came to the station to complain of unauthorized use of her debit card, the responding officer reports the complainant said that between June 18 and July 2 her debit card was used at ATMs in West Springfield and Agawam, the woman said that she suspects a friend of her daughter who lives in the vicinity of the ATMs used and frequently visits her daughter may be responsible, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
4:00 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, the animal control officer reports a person came to the shelter to surrender a chocolate Labrador retriever dog reportedly found on Southwick Road near City View Boulevard;
4:14 p.m.: unattended death, Montgomery Road, a caller reports an unattended death, the responding officer reports the medical examiner’s office accepted jurisdiction;
4:35 p.m.: assist citizen, Main Line Derive, a caller reports a child is locked inside a car, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
6:28 p.m.: larceny, Malone Avenue, a caller reports the theft of her engagement ring, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she had guests at her residence on Saturday who got too rowdy and were asked to leave, the woman said that she subsequently found her engagement ring missing and, after searching for it for two days, wants to report it to have been stolen;
7:02 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to report her boyfriend stole her laptop computer, the responding officer reports the woman said that her boyfriend had asked to borrow her computer and when she denied him took it anyway, the woman said that she has repeatedly asked him to return it to no avail, the computer was reported to be stolen;
8:35 p.m.: fireworks, Yankee Circle, a caller reports many powerful fireworks are being launched by a neighbor, the responding officer reports he saw and heard loud fireworks as he approached and found a resident in the act of lighting fireworks, the man apologized and surrendered the remaining fireworks which were transported to the station for disposal;
9:22 p.m.: fireworks, New Broadway Street, a caller reports fireworks are exploding close to the ground, the responding officer reports many parties in the area and that fireworks were being launched in many places, the officer reports he sounded his cruiser’s siren and the fireworks displays ceased;

12:46 p.m.: trespassing, Chapman Playground, St. Paul Street, a patrol officer reports he found two separate groups at the playground, all the parties present were advised of the park’s hours and sent on their ways;
11:41 a.m.: breaking and entering, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports her vehicle was broken into overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that during the night she went out to get something from her car and may not have locked it again when she left it, the woman said that in the morning she found her glove compartment open and her purse missing;
12:06 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the operator said that his license was suspended and a check confirmed the man’s license status and revealed him to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, the officer reports the man pulled away from police and attempted to flee but was detained, Richard A. Kaempfer, 24, of an unknown Huntington address, was arrested on the warrant and for resisting arrest;
2:44 p.m.: multiple callers report a dog in a parked car is in distress, the responding officer reports he observed the temperature to be 90 degrees and found the dog had been in the vehicle for at least a half hour, the dog was panting and appeared to be uncomfortable, the officer spoke with owner who said that because the window was open an inch and the dog had water she thought the dog was safe, the officer reports the incident was referred to the animal control officer;
2:47 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
4:37 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered an unattended vehicle with open windows and power tools in plain sight, the officer reports he investigated further to find persons swimming in the river, the swimmers were advised of the prohibition and left the water;
4:54 p.m.: officer wanted, Day Avenue, a caller reports that his name and phone number were posted on a males-seeking-males dating page on a web site, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he became aware of the posting when he started to get telephone calls, the man said he contacted the web site and was advised to report the matter to local police;
6:56 p.m.: assist citizen, Hampton Ponds, Long Pond Road, a patrol officer reports he was approached by a Holyoke resident who lost the key to her vehicle, a second officer was dispatched and reports that the woman said that she had given her child the key to her vehicle so he could put something away and when the child returned without the key she went in search of it, the woman said she encountered a male party who said he found a key on the ground and asked persons nearby if anyone had lost it, the man said he gave it to a male party who claimed it, the woman had a key to access the vehicle but it would not operate it so she removed the contents and was allowed to leave the vehicle in place overnight until she can return with a useful key;
9:39 p.m.: larceny, Lozier Avenue, a Huntington resident came to the station to complain that her boyfriend stole her vehicle, the responding officer reports the woman said that her boyfriend had been driving her Jeep erratically and at a high rate of speed, the woman said that the man refused to drive more responsibly and refused to stop to let her out of the vehicle, the woman said that she attempted to exit the vehicle when it stopped but the man pulled her back inside, the woman said that she was eventually able to get out of her Jeep when the man stopped and then he told her that he was going to her residence to gather his belongings and then she would never see her vehicle again, State Police report that the man was not found at the woman’s Huntington address, criminal complaints for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for larceny were filed.
