WESTFIELD – KFC and the Westfield Starfires have partnered to support the Westfield Boys and Girls Club with the “Strike Out Hunger” initiative.
The fast-casual restaurant and local Futures Collegiate Baseball League entry have created a promotion that will benefit the Boys and Girls Club’s summer meals program. For each strikeout earned by a Starfires pitcher at Bullens Field this season, KFC will donate $10 to the program.
“We are thrilled to be teaming up with both KFC and the Starfires to help make sure family’s in the Westfield area are getting the nutrition they need in these trying times,” said Bill Parks, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Westfield. “The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Westfield will continue to do our part and with the generous help from KFC and the Starfires our mission will be carried out.”
“Go Starfires,” he added, in support of the team.
Last season, the Westfield Starfires’ Jack Fox broke the league record for strikeouts in a season with 76, and this year, West Springfield’s Nick Dombkowski is one of the league leaders in that category.
“The Starfires are about connecting communities and engaging them in a way that has a positive impact,” said co-owner Christopher Thompson. “This is another example of bringing together two terrific partners in a unique and impactful way with KFC and the Westfield Boys & Girls Club Strike Out Hunger Initiative.” – Courtesy of Westfield Starfires
