Letter: In support of candidates

To the Editor,

Incumbent City Councilor in Ward 1 – Mary Ann Babinski has worked hard during her time on
the City Council – representing Ward 1 interests on a City Council that seems to ignore the interests of
the residents of the North end. She has always been a tireless advocate for clean water and the
environment and I her believe her expertise in this area is an important asset as Westfield continues to
deal with the PFAS issues in our Aquifer – as well as protecting the remaining clean water in Westfield.
Moreover, Ms. Babinski provides great service to her constituent – taking calls, visiting and working
residents on many issues. She is and will continue to be a service focused, responsible and hard-working
public servant and I hope Ward 1 votes for Mary Ann Babinski.
Incumbent Councilor at Large Dave Flaherty is another Council member who I believe deserves another
term. He seeks our and listens to constituents when making decisions and is a fierce advocate for
transparency, planning and fiscal responsibility. He is not a rubber stamp for more truck development
We need more of all of these things in Westfield and I think Mr. Flaherty will work for all of us in
Westfield in trying to accomplish these things. I encourage all Westfield residents to vote for Dave
Flaherty.
Captain Michael McCabe of Westfield’s police department is seeking the Mayor’s office and I for one
hope he wins it. Mr. McCabe is a resident of the city and knows Westfield due to both his residency but
also because he has worked within city government for years. He knows the system, departments,
personalities plus has the background, education, experience and expertise needed to run a complex
city such as Westfield. He has good ideas and wants to implement a planning & budgeting process that
will be more efficient, transparent and efficient than the current process. He will shake things up –
which needs to happen. Please vote for Mike McCabe – he will be good for Westfield and Westfield’s
residents.
Sincerely,
Connie Adams
