LL tourney explosion set

WESTFIELD – Many area fireworks displays aren’t set to go off just yet, but local baseball fans are still about to look skyward.
The Westfield Little League Baseball American and National All-Stars are set to take local ball fields Thursday for the first time this summer as district tournament play begins.

It will be a busy opening night for both teams.
The Nationals will host Amherst at Papermill Field. The Americans will welcome in Belchertown at Cross Street Field. Both games begin at 6 p.m.
The Senior Division will feature Westfield traveling to Agawam for a 5:30 start.
On Friday, the action will shift to the city’s 9-10 year-old division which has Westfield American hosting Gateway at Cross Street. First pitch is at 6 p.m.
The Juniors play at Southampton at 5:30 p.m.
In American Legion Baseball action, Westfield Post 124 travels to Longmeadow for a 5:45 start.
The action continues over the weekend with several teams slated for home and aways.
