Local Student Wins Award at Hamilton College Convocation
CLINTON, N.Y. – Bridget E. Lewis, daughter of Michele and Thomas Lewis of Westfield, was awarded The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarship at Hamilton College’s annual Convocation, held on August 28. The Convocation ceremony officially marked the beginning of Hamilton’s 202nd academic year.
The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarships are awarded annually to approximately ten sophomores at the end of their first year in recognition of academic achievement, character, and leadership. The prize scholarships continue through the senior year, provided the recipients continue to fulfill the requirements.
Lewis, a sophomore, is a graduate of Westfield High School.
Hamilton College is a highly selective residential college offering its 1,800 students a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. Students are challenged to think, write and speak critically, creatively and analytically, so that upon graduation they may distinguish themselves in both their professions and their communities.

Area Residents Make the Spring 2013 Dean’s List at UMass Boston
BOSTON – The following local residents were among the 2,800 students from the University of Massachusetts Boston who made the Spring 2013 Dean’s List:
Nicole Aube, a resident of Westfield
Dhruval Amin, a resident of Westfield
Natalia Pisklak, a resident of Westfield

BGSU summer Dean’s List announced
BOWLING GREEN, – Bowling Green State University has announced that undergraduate Alexander Wiggs of Westfield, Education & Human Development has been named to the summer semester Dean’s List for achieving grade point averages of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
To be chosen for the Dean’s List, undergraduate students must carry no fewer than 12 letter-graded credit hours per semester.
