Lucien J. Paquette, II

WESTFIELD – Lucien (Lou) Paquette, II, 82, of Westfield passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019 at home with his loving wife and family by his side. Born in Chester to Lucien J. Paquette I and Elizabeth (Carrington), he grew up in Southampton before settling in Westfield. Lou was a proud veteran of the Army, having served from 1956-1958. A local business owner for over 50 years, he owned a coffee shop, R & L Catering, and Redwood Restaurant with his brother Bob. Lou also owned and operated Lou’s Construction and then Lou’s Fuel Service before retiring in 2005.  He was a fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, his John Deere tractors, (trotter) horse racing, visiting National Parks with his wife, autumns in New England, and always provided strength and support to his family and friends. Touching the lives of everyone he met, he leaves behind family, friends, loyal customers, and especially Dr. Lindsay Rockwell and the amazing nurses who became extended family at Cooley Dickinson Cancer Center.
He is survived by his wife Sheila E. of 37 years, his son Lou Paquette III and his wife Judy, his daughter Gail and her fiancé Steve Laflamme, his daughter Sarah MacKay, his daughter Mandy Hess and her husband Scott, he was predeceased by his parents and his son Richard Paquette.  Lou is also survived by his brother Robert Paquette and his wife Sally, his sister Eileen Couture and her husband Robert, longtime friends Ron, George, Jim, and Steve.  He will be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at Westfield Funeral Home 4 Princeton St. Westfield, MA on Monday, October 21 from 4-7. A private family burial will be held at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital 30 Locust Street, Northampton, MA 01060 in his memory.
