AGAWAM – M. Yvonne (Marchand) Chartier, age 70, passed away at her home on June 1, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Normand Chartier, who died on July 1, 1980.Yvonne is survived by 2 sons, David P. Chartier and his wife Dawn, of Westfield and Donald N. Chartier of West Springfield; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Chartier, Nicole Chartier, Jordyn Chartier, Carrie Haftmann; a great granddaughter, Kaylyn Haftmann; 2 sister-in-law’s Lucille Marchand and Sophie Chartier; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her Visiting Angel, Lynn. Yvonne was also predeceased by her brother, Rene Marchand; brother in law, Paul Chartier; and her parents, Edward and Lillian (Montminy) Marchand. Yvonne was born in Berlin, N.H., and was a resident of Agawam for over 20 years; having previously lived in Westfield. She retired in 2002 from CIGNA Insurance, Bloomfield, CT.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, 10:00 a.m. from the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield. Her burial will follow in St. Rose DeLima Cemetery, Chicopee. A calling hour will take place on Friday in the funeral home, from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
