Judith L. Barber

BarberJudithWESTFIELD – Judith Lee Barber. The time has come this 31st day of May that our beloved Judith Lee Barber surrendered herself to God. She passed in the comfort of her own home with family and friends by her side. Fifty-seven years ago the world was blessed with the arrival of Judith Lee Barber. She was born on June 8, 1956. Judy was a life long resident of Westfield, MA, who attended local schools including Westfield High class of 1974. Prior to becoming ill, she was a supervisor at Mass Relay in Holyoke, MA. Judy enjoyed keeping the family history through photographs and scrap booking. She was also well known for her “green thumb”, creating beautiful plants and flowers.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and June Barber, as well as by her brother, Raymond Barber. Judy’s passing on May 31, 2013 marks the 28th anniversary of her grandmother, Marion Dennis Rising Clark’s passing. This day is also the birth anniversary of her father-in-law, Francis Hillard. The three siblings Judy leaves behind are Allan Barber, Donna Guillemette, and Sally Barber. Judy was a loving mother to Tammie Barber and a proud grandmother to Jacob and Gabrielle Craig, all of Westfield. She was also a joyous great-grandmother to Noah Allen Craig. Judy leaves behind her loving life-mate, Raymond Hillard, whose love has lasted more than 27 years. She also leaves her step-daughter, Heidi Hillard and her daughter, Kristen Feori. Additionally, Judy is survived by her aunt, Ruth Smith and nephew, Spencer Godin both of Westfield and a niece, Holly Marsden in IL. Judy will also be greatly missed by Amara Cote and family. Rocky Barber was Judy’s biggest fan and best 4 legged friend. His life will not be the same without her.
Judy courageously battled ovarian and breast cancer for 4 1/2 years. Her strength, hope, will and love carried our family through the course of this awful disease. May she find peace and rest knowing her family will miss her always.
Firtion Adams Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service and private burial will be held for this beautiful woman.
