Marjorie McClellan Feeney

GRANVILLE – Marjorie McClellan Feeney, age 99, died on Saturday, September 16th, after a long illness.

Marjorie was born on March 10th, 1924, in Kennett Square PA but grew up in Littleton MA.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Connecticut College in 1945 with a degree in mathematics and was hired for the remainder of WWII by the Department of Commerce in Washington DC where she plotted the tides.

Marjorie spent most of her working life teaching mathematics at The MacDuffie School in Springfield MA. In addition to her love of math, Marjorie loved nature and animals. Her favorite animals were dairy goats and Shetland Sheepdogs, both of which she raised at various times. She and her daughter Susan bred and showed a number of Shelties to their championships.

Marjorie was a long-time resident of Granville MA where she had a number of very close friends that were with her until the end.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Marianne Ramos and Susan Morris, and two grandchildren.

A memorial service for Marjorie will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at Granville Federated Church, 16 Granby Road, Granville, MA 01034. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. A private burial will be held for the immediate family only.
