WESTFIELD – Mary A. (Quinn) Condron, 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 1, 2013. Born on September 23, 1921 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Cannon) Quinn.
Mary was a 1939 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy and a 1942 graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She continued her career as a nurse working for St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and later at Noble Hospital in Westfield until her retirement in 1983. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. She loved to volunteer as a Health Aide, distributing flu shots for the city of Westfield. She was a member of the Confraternity of The Holy Rosary at St. Mary’s, a former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and former President of the Westfield Nurses Association.
Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Condron and his wife Kenda from Charleston, IL, and Michael E. Condron from Westfield and one daughter, Kathleen A. Doton from Westfield. She also leaves five grandchildren; Timothy Condron and his wife Danell, Kyla Condron Ballinger and her husband Steve, TJ Doton and his wife Molinda, Sean Doton, and Kelly Doton along with four great grandchildren; Carter and Callyn Ballinger, Colin Doton, and Bennett Condron. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, James A. Condron in 1993, her brothers, Rev. Thomas Quinn in 2007 and Joseph Quinn in 2002.
A liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 5th at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street in Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, also in Westfield. Calling hours are Monday, February 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street (Route 20), Westfield.
