Mary Wanda Uricchio

SOUTHWICK: Mary Wanda (Babiarz) Uricchio, 82, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016 in a local nursing home. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on October 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Josephine (Jez) Babiarz. Wanda was formerly a Data Entry Clerk for the Federal Reserve Bank in Windsor Locks, CT. She was a member of the Southwick Senior Center where she was involved in the Writing Club, French classes, and Chi Gong.  In addition, to enjoying scrapbooking, shopping and short day trips, Wanda was a coffee and sweets enthusiast.
She was predeceased by her husband William A. Uricchio in 2010. Wanda is survived by her 4 sons, Francis G. Lamagna and, his wife, Kathleen E. of Norwich, CT; Richard A. Lamagna and, his wife, Susan D. of Belchertown, MA; Donald Uricchio and, his wife, Christine of Enfield, CT; and Ronald Uricchio and, his wife, Jane of Wolcott, CT; her 2 daughters, Jodi H. Wagner and her husband, David J. of Granville, MA and Beverly Yelle and her husband, John of Enfield, CT; 2 brothers, Stanley Babiarz of Toronto, Canada and Edward Babiarz with his wife, Linda, of Waterloo, Canada; 2 sisters, Dorothy Wilder and her husband, Michael Elwood of Kingston, Canada and Irene Russell of Oshawa, Canada; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and her best friend of 58 years, Ginny Bergstrom of Somers, CT along with a wide network of family and friends.  The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Baystate Medical Center’s Cardiac Care Unit and Jewish Geriatric Services Lifecare for the care and compassion provided to Wanda during her stay with them.  A funeral service for Wanda will take place Thursday March 17, 2016 at 1 pm in the Chapel at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA. The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, Westfield, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Granville Ambulance Fund, 709 Main Road, Granville, MA, 01034.
