SOUTHWICK – Michael W. Mitchell, 65, a resident of Southwick for 35 years, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side. Born and educated in Arlington, MA, Michael was the son of the late John and Eileen Mitchell.
Michael was previously employed at Erving B. Moore Company, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, a former member of the Southwick VFW Post 872, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cheryl A. (Reeves) Mitchell and a brother, Peter Mitchell of Boston, MA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12th, at 12:00 noon at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leed’s Veteran’s Hospital, c/o Recreation Rehabilitation Department, 421 North Main Street, Leeds, MA 01053.
