WESTFIELD – Points may have been hard to come by in one local high school basketball game Tuesday night, but someone forgot to tell one of those players.
Gateway’s Alyssa Moreau scored half of all of her team’s points (12) in the Gators’ 24-8 road victory against St. Mary Tuesday evening at Westfield Middle School North.
Gateway got off to a fast start, outscoring St. Mary 10-2 in the second quarter. The Gators led 14-2 at the half.
Gabby Goralczyk scored four points and four others – Joanna Arkoette, Caroline Booth, Becca Herman, and Megan Wright – each had two for Gateway.
The Gators’ suffocating defense limited Saints’ Lauren Chapdelaine, Tessa Kielbasa, and Alison Stanlewicz to two points apiece.
Alisssa Easton and Karissa Foley each converted a free throw for St. Mary.
