MARYLAND: Nina (Santucci) Pozgar, 73, (1948-2021) passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Louis and Mary (Scatchard) Santucci.
Nina taught law at Northport High School. She was ADA in Suffolk County for many years, advancing to Chief of Family Crime and eventually Chief of White Collar Crime. She moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the C.O.P.S. Program legal counsel and reported directly to Janet Reno. Nina also was on the General Council for the Windermere Group owned by her cousin-in-law Robert Pozgar. She was involved in writing six legal books for medical malpractice with her husband George. Nina loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, she enjoyed exercising, walking, going to the gym and swimming. Additionally, she loved watching Hallmark movies, loved writing books, journals, letters and cards and was an amazing cook. Nina was an extremely giving and caring person, with a huge heart and put everyone else first, regardless of her own pains. She was very organized, had a beautiful smile and was loved by all who knew her.
Nina is survived by her loving husband, George Pozgar of Annapolis, MD, her daughter, Linda Davidson and her husband Timothy Davidson, Sr. of Lynchburg, VA, her loving grandchildren, Timothy Davidson, Jr., Nicole Davidson and Chelsea Doebler, cherished great grandchildren, Sophie, Faye and Nora, her caring siblings, Louis Santucci, Jr. and his wife Irene of Washington, D.C., Marc Santucci and his wife Deborah of East Lansing, MI, Lisa Domotor and her husband Joseph of Arnold, MD and Gina Broderick and her husband Thomas of Westfield, her brother-in-law David Pozgar of Altoona, PA and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sadly she was predeceased by a brother JonAngelo Santucci.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 9:30AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St., Westfield. Burial will follow the mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd., Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
