WESTFIELD – City residents now have a walk-in facility aimed at serving not just the Whip City, but the larger region, as well.
Noble Express Care, located on 57 Union Street, opened November 4 and is ready to provide treatment for non-life threatening, urgent care medical issues.
“It’s fast, convenient, and economical alternative care,” said Allison Gearing-Kalill, the hospital’s vice president of community development. “There’s going to be less of a wait and less co-pay for patients.”
Asked whether the decision to locate the new venture on Union Street had to do with a large population of immigrants to the city, Gearing-Kalill said it was a factor, but not singularly so.
“All of the decisions were weighed,” she said. “But we want (this facility) to be for all in the Westfield community. It is the most modern and up-to-date facility in the area. It provides easy access and parking.”
Union Street’s location in the city also lends itself to easy access to residents on the Westfield/West Springfield line, which Gearing-Kalill believes will provide great benefit to the western-most West Siders.
“That’s our goal,” she said of providing services to other surrounding communities in addition to Westfield. “It’s a great facility for our communities.”
“Our location is convenient to both Elm and Main Street,” said Dr. Brian Sutton, the medical director of Noble Express Care. “So we can serve the greater area, residents of Agawam, Feeding Hills, Southwick and Granville.” he said.
“We want to become the number one urgent care center in the Pioneer Valley,” he said.
Providing a full digital X-ray facility, as well as limited laboratory for point of care testing, Sutton oversees a clinical staff of two full-time medical assistants and physician’s assistant Troy Chilson.
“We can take care of minor trauma with our x-ray facilities, handling fractures and dislocations,” Sutton said, before singing the praises of the new facility and his “outstanding” staff.
Noble Express Care is open seven days a week with convenient hours from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekend hours.
