Oops! He did it again

(Sigh)
Oops! I did it again.
No, I didn’t. Yes I did. I went where I never said I’d never go again. No, not back to the early 2000s dancing to a Britney Spears song, but back to picking against our New England Patriots.
I said I wouldn’t do it. I thought I had learned my lesson, picking against J.D. Martinez and the Boston Red Sox in the 2018 FanDuel World Championships a few weeks ago, but no, I failed to go with our pro ballers, the five-time world champion New England Patriots.
This one is an easier pill to swallow though as it gave you, constant contestants, a better chance at some bigger prizes. Call it an early Christmas present, of sorts.
My gaffe allowed nine participants to beat my record (9-4) and battle it out for our weekly gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant.
Speaking of doing it again, one lucky (or rather skilled) pro football prognosticator sacked me again.
For the second straight season, James Vincent emerged as the Week 1 champ by going 11-2. Vincent’s tiebreaker total was 46 points.
My trusty sidekick (chief Beat The Putz statistician Melissa Hartman) pointed out that a few people forgot to include their tiebreaker total (the total combined points scored in the Sunday night game). Don’t forget to write in your guesstimate or risk your chance for a gift card, or more importantly, entry into the grand prize drawing.
