SOUTHWICK – Southwick pitcher Andrew Mitchell suffered a tough-luck loss as the Rams fell to the visiting Belchertown Orioles 5-3 Monday.
Southwick (9-8), which lost its fourth straight game, committed three errors and allowed three unearned runs.
“We’re not making the plays right now and we’re not getting the bounces,” Southwick coach Tim Karetka said. “That’s just the way it goes.”
Mitchell also collected two hits at the plate.
The Rams, who return to the diamond tomorrow at home against Hampshire, must win one of its final three games to earn a Division II tournament berth.
“I’d like to get that win sooner, rather than later,” coach Karetka said. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
