Ashlee Owen scored a pair of goals to lead Westfield past Agawam 2-1 Friday.
Owen gave Westfield a 1-0 first-half lead with a goal set up by Lexi Minicucci, and tallied a second goal 18:22 into the second half unassisted.

Westfield goalie Karly Mastello finished with seven saves. Agawam net minder Jordyn Conway had six.
“It was a great game,” Westfield coach Karen Gomez said. “Westfield is happy to open with a win. The teams were very evenly matched.”
Westfield returns to action at Longmeadow Monday at 4 p.m.
