WESTFIELD – The undefeated Westfield State University men’s ice hockey team is now receiving national recognition as the Owls are ranked 15th in this week’s D3hockey.com national poll.
In addition, Westfield State is listed fourth in “others receiving votes” in the USCHO.com national poll.
This is the first time that Westfield State has been ranked nationally after reviving men’s ice hockey as a varsity sports in 2008 after a 20-year hiatus.
The 6-0 Owls face their stiffest test of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when the play at Amherst College. The Lord Jeffs are ranked eighth nationally in both polls.
