WESTFIELD – Cathedral’s Peter Crinella proved to be a big thorn in the sides of the Westfield High School baseball team.
Crinella accounted for all four of his team’s runs, going 2-for-4 at the plate to drive in four runs in a 4-3 win over Westfield late Wednesday night at Bullens Field.
Despite the loss, Westfield delivered some positive results: Brent Houle pitched five scoreless innings of relief, Kyle Murphy went 3-for-4, Aris Larancuent went 2-for-3, Nate Barnes collected two RBIs, and Robby Sullivan drove in a run.
Westfield (10-7) will have a chance to bounce back in a pair of road games against Minnechaug (May 20) and against Agawam (May 21). The Bombers return home Friday, May 24 for “senior day” festivities at Bullens Field when they host the Longmeadow Lancers in the regular season finale.
