FITCHBURG – It was an impressive day for one Westfield High female junior track star at the Central/West Division 1 championships.
Westfield’s Keri Paton finished third in the javelin (107-4) at Fitchburg State Monday, behind only East Longmeadow’s Lauren Kennedy (119-8) and Ludlow’s Alyssa Guyon (110-6).
Paton also claimed 16th in the shot put with a throw of 29-5.
Alex Lehman placed 15th overall in the 400 meter dash (1:04.12) for Westfield, teammate Emily Ann Andrews was 21st in the long jump (14-8.5), and the Bombers’ 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams each managed to grab 16th.
Westfield’s 4×100 relay team finished 19th.
The top three overall teams were Northampton (1st, 79.50 points), Wachusett (2nd, 71), and Algonquin (3rd, 60). Westfield finished 21st (6 points).
