WESTFIELD – Paul Peter Sawyer died peacefully on September 16, 2022. Born in Clinton, MA on December 21, 1944, to Kenneth and Josephine (Murphy) Sawyer. He attended Clinton High School and graduated from Worcester State. Paul met Karen on Cape Cod and moved to Westfield in 1970 as newlyweds. Paul worked for Westfield Gas and Electric for 30 years, retiring in 2002. His retirement was filled with reading and gardening and all sports in New England, especially the Bruins. He enjoyed working on the Sons of Erin Float with the great crew that showed up every Saturday. He met the ups and downs in life with integrity, a voice of reason and a smile.
Paul leaves behind his loving wife Karen and sons Matthew, Mark and John (Stacie Goeltz), and his much-loved granddaughter Gigi all of Westfield. He also leaves his siblings Gerald Sawyer, Kathleen (Sawyer) Murphy (Bill), Sandra Sawyer (Tim), sisters-in-law Carol Sawyer and Taiya Barss, his in-laws Joseph Cincotta (Sandra) Michelle Cincotta, Richard Cincotta (Carol), Pamela Cincotta (Peter Sawtell) and many loved nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his parents and siblings Richard, Kenneth, Thomas, and his sister Judith Wilson.
Calling hours for Paul will be held on Tuesday, September 20th from 4-7 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield and from 10 am-11:15 am on Wednesday morning, followed by a service at 11:15 am.
