SPRINGFIELD – Ed Perez won the 110 meter high hurdles and ran the third leg of the Owls winning 4×100 meter relay to help the Westfield State men’s track and field team to a fourth place finish at the 12 team Springfield Classic meet on Saturday.
Perez completed the hurdles in 15.07, and teamed with Paul James, Jordanio Oquendo and Elijuan Diaz to win the 4×100 in 43.39 seconds.
Other top point scorers for Westfield included Dereck Stone, who placed second in the high jump by clearing 1.88m (6′-02.00″).
Patrick Delisle took second in the pole vault with a height of 4.10m (13′-05.25″), John Tomlin had a runner up finish in the 400 meters (50.84), Matt Moussamih was second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.63, and Brent Kane took a third in the 400 meter hurdles (59.51).
Westfield will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance championships next Saturday at Rhode Island College. – Courtesy of Westfield State Sports
