Peter J. Bannish

WESTFIELD – Peter J. Bannish, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at home. He was born in Westfield, MA, to the late Henry and Jean (Gogulski) Bannish.
He was a graduate of Westfield High School, Deerfield Academy, and Harvard University. Peter was a three-sport star at Westfield High School and most valuable player at Deerfield Academy in baseball, basketball and football. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Peter had a passion for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for his family. He spent countless hours playing wiffle ball, “barn basketball” and football with his brothers. He was also an avid golfer and huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhusker Football and UCONN Women’s Basketball teams.
He leaves his brothers and sisters, Henry J. Bannish, Jr. and his wife Sally, Mitchell Bannish and his wife Karen, Steven Bannish and his wife Carlene, Joan O’Brien, Carolyn Mastroianni and her husband Mark all of Westfield, James Bannish and his wife Nancy of West Springfield, Robert Bannish and his wife Kati of Wellesley, his brother-in-law Bill Ward of Westfield and his sister-in-law Joan Donovan Bannish of Wilbraham. Peter also leaves his nieces and nephews, William, Jonathan, Kristen, Brian, Michelle, Christopher J., Andrew, Gregory, Elizabeth, Brittany, Matthew, Christopher M., Stephen, Michael, John, Meghan, Christine, Jennifer, Lauren, Tate, Decker, Dempsey and great-nephews Nathan, Austin and Will. Peter was predeceased by his brother, Frederick J. Bannish; his sister, Jeanne Ward, and his niece, Marisa Jane Bannish.
Funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service,76 Broad Street,Westfield is in charge of arrangement.
