Congratulations to Robert Piper, of Westfield whose golfer, Justin Rose, had the highest finish (second) among qualifying Ultimate Sports Challenge entries at the British Open. Piper also survived a random drawing against four other entrants to take down the field.
No one had the overall Open winner Francesco Molinari and my pick, Dustin Johnson, got lost in the rough, apparently.
Kevin Michaud, of Westfield won the previous USC event – Red Sox-Yankees.
There are two more chances to qualify for the grand prize with the next Sox-Yanks series (Aug. 2-5) and the final PGA Major of the year, the PGA Championship (Aug. 9-12).
