Planning board to consider rezoning, special permits in Tuesday’s meeting

WESTFIELD- The City of Westfield’s Planning Board will convene Tuesday evening for its final regularly scheduled meeting before the new year.

The board will discuss, review, and vote on several projects and amendments throughout the city. The first two major agenda items will be a review of plans that do not require approval under subdivision control law. Those plans involve the properties of 77 Mechanic Street and 1028 Granville Road.

There are also three items scheduled for a public hearing during the meeting. The first scheduled item is a continuation of a zoning map amendment of 710 Southampton Road. The board will be considering an amendment that would rezone the property from a Business A zone to a Business B zone.

The second item under public participation is a consideration for a special permit for a home-based business on 26 Orange Street. The agenda does not specify what the special permit would be for.

The final item for public participation is a site plan for a warehouse or transfer facility on 66 Ampad Road. The Planning Board requests that all people who wish to be heard publicly for these matters appear at the meeting or submit a written statement before the close of the public hearing.
