1:33 a.m.: suspicious activity, Franklin Avenue School, 22 Franklin Ave., a caller reports a gathering at the school, the responding officer reports persons found were expending fireworks, the gathering was dispersed;
10:36 a.m.: larceny, Phelps Avenue, a resident reports a card table she left outside was stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said that she suspects a neighbor with whom she has ongoing issues is responsible, the victim had reported on Friday that a large area rug had been stolen in similar circumstances, the officer reports there was no response at the suspect’s door;
1:29 p.m.: indecent exposure, North Elm Street, a caller from North Elm Street restaurant reports a man intentionally exposed himself to her and employees of the restaurant, the responding officer reports the caller pointed out a man and said that the man had exposed his genitalia to her and looked directly at her while masturbating causing her to be “shocked and alarmed”, a second witness said the man exposed himself and attempted to follow her into a rest room, Eddie Camacho, 27, of 129 N. Elm St., was arrested for two counts of open and gross lewdness and for disorderly conduct;
3:07 p.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller reports that a known party keyed his car, the responding officer reports the incident remains under investigation;
6:05 p.m.: fire, Orange Street, a caller reports a fire in the basement, dual response dispatched, a second caller reports both sides of the duplex were evacuated, the G&E was notified and responded also, the responding firefighters report finding heavy smoke in the basement where clothing near the water heater’s pilot light was burning, the fire was extinguished and the city’s building inspector was notified;
6:52 p.m.: vandalism, Sackett Road, a caller reports vandalism to his mailbox, the responding officer reports the mailbox had been struck with a baseball bat or similar instrument, the officer surveyed the area and found two other mailboxes which had been knocked over but had only minor damage, the officer reports he was able to place the mailboxes upright;
7:24 p.m.: larceny, King Avenue, a caller reports a person is stealing a bicycle, the responding officer reports he arrived to find a man with a bicycle in his car who said that he assumed that the bike found on the tree belt had been discarded, the bike was returned;
8:44 p.m.: animal complaint, Powder Mill Village 126 Union Street, a caller reports a stray dog, the responding animal control officer reports the black and brown gelded male coon hound was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
11:30 p.m.: vandalism, Franklin Street, a caller reports that new graffiti has been found on the rear of a Franklin Street building managed by the caller;
11:34 p.m.: disturbance, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports a man with a baseball bat is hitting something outside, the responding officer reports the caller said that after he heard somebody hitting something outside he saw a man with a baseball bat approaching a neighbor’s apartment, the officer reports he discovered a suspect in the area of a vehicle with a shattered windshield and rear window which belongs to the man’s girlfriend, the man initially said that his girlfriend had damaged the car herself but eventually admitted he smashed the windows, Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., 39, of 12 W. School St., was arrested for malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
