10:47 a.m.: animal complaint, Squire Lane, a caller reports a stray brown dog is in her yard and won’t let her enter her vehicle, the animal control officer was notified but was unable to respond due to duties at the shelter which required her attention;
12:02 p.m.: suspicious person, Elm Street, a caller reports that a known person is openly carrying a BB gun and the caller is concerned that others may be alarmed believing it to be a real firearm, the responding officer reports that the man had come to attention of police previously because he had brandished a BB gun in the past, the man was found sitting outside a gas station and convenience store with the gun on the ground next to him, the man surrendered the pistol;
1:45 p.m.: larceny, Buck Pond Road, a resident came to the station to report that his city-owned rubbish receptacle has been stolen, the man was referred to the DPW for a replacement container;
4:46 p.m.: identity fraud, Morris Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her personal information has been fraudulently used, the responding officer reports the woman said that when she attempted to open a G&E account she learned that her social security number was already linked to an open account;
6:19 p.m.: accident, Elm Street, a caller reports a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, the responding officer reports a witness said that she stopped at a crosswalk and observed a girl ride her bike across the roadway even though traffic had not stopped, the woman said that the bicycle struck the rear of a box truck, the 13-year-old girl was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released;
6:41 p.m.: disturbance, Belmont Street, a resident came to the station to complain that she was assaulted the night before by her former boyfriend with whom she still lives, the responding officer reports the woman said that an argument developed and she attempted to walk away from it and go to bed but the man barged into her bedroom and when she attempted to call police he took her phone, pinned her down on the bed and threatened to harm her and their baby, the man refused to give her phone back when he left her bedroom, officers sought the suspect and found him at a Meadow Street location, Josue A. Rios, 24, of 19 Belmont St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for intimidating a witness;
7:09 p.m.: disturbance, McKinley Terrace, a caller reports he had been engaged in a scuffle earlier and the other party later attempted to run him down with a vehicle, the responding officer reports the man said that he had been engaged in an argument with his girlfriend’s son and after they separated the man attempted to strike him with a vehicle on Meadow Street, a witness supported the victim’s account, officers found the suspect at his home and he said that he did not know if he had attempted to drive at or around the victim on Meadow Street, Justin A. Harnden, 27, of 18 McKinley Terrace, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon;
7:26 p.m.: Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St., a caller reports his brother’s girlfriend is threatening his mother with a knife, the responding officer reports a woman found outside the residence denied she had a knife and said that she carries a bat in her car, when the officer went to the vehicle to secure the knife he saw the blade of a knife in plain view, the officer spoke with a resident who said that the woman was upset about items posted on a social networking site and had said she was coming to the residence with a knife, the resident said the woman had been outside brandishing a knife, Rebecca Pachot, 34, of 10 W. School St., was arrested for three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon;
9:36 p.m.: arrest, Noble Hospital, Court Street, a caller from the emergency department reports a man transported to the hospital earlier is ready to be discharged, the man had been found to be the subject of a an outstanding warrant before he was taken to hospital for treatment, Kyle E. Barboza, 23, of 42 Arnold Street was arrested on the 2012 warrant issued by Holyoke District Court;
9:55 p.m.: breaking and entering, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold St., a caller reports the lock on her door has been damaged, the responding officer reports obvious pry marks were found on the door which was damaged, the resident said that she does not believe anything was stolen;
11:11 p.m.: disturbance, Lewis Street, a caller reports her boyfriend assaulted her, the responding officer reports the woman said that an argument became physical when her boyfriend pushed her and she pushed him back, the woman said that the man then punched her, both parties said that the male party was the first to lay hands on the other, Richard Vega, 42 of 2 Lewis St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship, the woman was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released.
