6:28 a.m.: larceny, Charles Street, caller reports theft of a mini dirt bike, officer reports property taken from back yard of residence;
7:43 a.m.: property found, Southampton Road School, patrol officer flagged down by a person who found a wallet, officer reports attempting to local owner;
8:36 a.m.: vi0olation of city ordinance, Cross Street at East Silver Street, caller reports a political sign obstructing sight line of motorists, officer reports sign was a vision obstruction and was relocated;
10:17 a.m.: missing person, East Main Street, caller reports missing youth, officer reports locating the youth outside of Price Rite supermarket, youth had several large soft-drink containers, youth stated that he was instructed by his mother to wait outside supermarket, officer reports youth transported to his mother who was waiting outside the Big Y supermarket;
1:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
2:48 p.m.: property found, officer reports being given a registration plate and an E-ZPass transponder while working a traffic detail, attempts to contact owner of plant unsuccessful, property documents and put into safe keeping;
4:31 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road at East Mountain Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed;
5:17 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:37 p.m.: assault, Bates Street, a caller reports her daughter was assaulted by a female party who has left the scene, the responding officer reports the 13-year-old victim said another 13-year-old girl was walking past her house when unfriendly words were exchanged, the victim said that the other girl came on to her porch, dragged her to the sidewalk and beat her up, a criminal complaint for being delinquent by reason of assault and battery as filed;
10:30 p.m.: assist other police department, East Silver Street, Agawam police request that a Westfield officer attempt to contact a city man whose apparently intact wallet was surrendered at their department, the responding officer reports he was unable to contact the owner;

3:06 a.m.: breaking and entering, Pleasant Street, a caller reports that two male parties appear to be attempting to break into a garage, the responding officer reports a witness provided descriptions of the suspects but they were not found;
9:59 a.m.: larceny, Colony Drive, a caller reports several hundred dollars was stolen from her bedroom, the responding officer reports the victim identified a suspect and the theft remains under investigation;
10:08 a.m.: assist other agency, Hedges Avenue, a caller from the Westfield District Court requests an officer attempt to serve a warrant, the responding officer reports the man was found at his last known address, Yevgeniy Y. Babinov, 23, of 9 Hedges Ave., was arrested on the warrant;
11:53 a.m.: larceny, a bank employee reports a customer has been victimized by a scam, the responding officer reports an elderly resident was notified that he had won a $2 million lottery but $25,000 was needed for legal fees before the money could be released, the victim sent a bank check to a Louisiana address, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
11:53 a.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a Florida resident reports the registration plate on his vehicle was stolen overnight while he was a guest at a motel;
12:31 p.m.: attempted larceny, Mill Street, a caller reports a male party attempted to steal from her purse while she was inside a play establishment, the responding officer reports the suspect had left prior to his arrival and a search of the area did not reveal him;
4:12 p.m.: burning complaint, Birch Bluffs Drive, a caller reports smoke from a neighbor’s outdoor fire is entering her home, the fire was extinguished;
5:29 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and stopped it, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Mark E. Ethier, 48, of 93 Meadow Street was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (a subsequent offense) and operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker;
5:30 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a resident reports via the on-line reporting option that a bicycle was stolen from an Elm Street location;
7:46 p.m.: narcotics violation, Franklin Street, a detective supervisor reports that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Darrell S. Merceri, 49, of 126 Montgomery St., was arrested for possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute and possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute;
9:24 p.m.: suspicious activity, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports a male youth who was seen pedaling a bicycle while guiding a second bike abandoned the second one when he saw that the caller was watching him, the responding officer reports the cyclist was not found, the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
10:06 p.m.: vandalism, Powdermill Village, 125 Union St., a caller reports all four of her car’s tires were slashed, the responding officer reports the victim said that she thinks a person with whom a relative had an altercation earlier in the evening may be responsible but said that she does not know the person.
