Monday, Aug. 6, 2012
8:15 a.m.: vandalism, East Mountain View Apartments, 138 E. Mountain Road, a caller reports her vehicle was vandalized, the responding officer reports that on Monday she had parked her vehicle in the upper lot at her apartment complex lot and returned on Saturday to find two scratches had been inscribed in trunk of her vehicle with a sharp object and soap had been smeared on the trunk, the woman said that she had cleaned the soap prior to the officer’s arrival;
2:57 p.m.: larceny, Birch Bluff Drive, a resident came to the station to report the theft of property from his truck, the responding officer reports the complainant said that his employer’s truck had been parked at his home when a circular saw valued at $100 and a laser level valued at $600 were removed from the covered bed of the pickup truck;
3:08 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, multiple callers report erratic operation of a vehicle, the responding officer reports the suspect vehicle was found in a Woodmont Street driveway, the operator was in the truck which was not operating and was obviously highly intoxicated, the officer escorted the man inside his home were his family told the officer that they could not care for the man in his intoxicated condition, the man was placed in protective custody;
4:52 p.m.: larceny, Van Deusen Apartments, 42 Arnold St., a resident came to the station to report a larceny, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she broke up with her boyfriend and he left with her food stamps valued at $100 and took $200 from her bank account, the officer reports he spoke with suspect who agreed to make restitution and the complainant was satisfied;
5:19 p.m.: breaking and entering, Stephanie Lane, a resident reported online that that he locked his vehicle in the evening and in the morning found the vehicle unlocked and a cell phone was missing, the victim reported that he was positive that the vehicle had been locked but there were no signs of forcible entry;
7:17 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to report a disturbance, the responding officer reports the woman was visibly upset and crying who said that her boyfriend had punched her three times in the presence of their children and had damaged doors and furnishings of the residence while carrying a knife, the officer reports he observed damage at the residence but the man was not found, criminal complaints for assault and battery in a domestic relationship, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and vandalism were filed, the Department of Children and Families was notified;
7:59 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Russell Road, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;

2:57 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Russell Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and stopped the vehicle, the operator said that he did not have his license in his possession, the officer reports a check revealed that the man’s Massachusetts license had expired in 2009, Timothy R. Crockett, 29, of 72 Honey Pot Road, Southwick, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for speeding in violation of special regulations, after his arrest the man was found to be licensed in Connecticut;
9:24 a.m.: found property, Granville Road, a woman came to the station to surrender property she said was found on Granville Road, the responding officer reports the woman left prior to his arrival and the property appears to be the contents of a wallet, the officer reports he was not immediately able to locate the owner of the property which was held at the station of safe keeping;
10:37 a.m.: assist citizen, Elm Street, the domestic violence advocate requests an officer to assist as she escorts a female party to collect property, the responding officer reports the woman gathered her possessions without incident;
12:54 p.m.: fire, King Street, a caller reports smoke in the area, the responding firefighters reports a resident was cooperative end extinguished a fire in a fire pit;
2:19 p.m.: animal complaint, Orange Street, a caller reports a stray dog, the responding animal control officer report he took custody of a Rottweiler puppy and transported it to the animal shelter;
2:31 p.m.: trespassing, Main Street, a caller reports that homeless persons have again set up housing behind a supermarket and appeared to be intoxicated, the caller said when he asked them to leave they laughed at him, the responding officer reports the parties were advised to leave and did so without incident;
4:17 p.m.: assist citizen, East Main Street, a caller reports keys are locked in a running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
4:17 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the operator was found to be licensed in New York although she said she is a Massachusetts resident and was warned that criminal charges will be filed if she does not promptly acquire a Massachusetts license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
4:57 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Notre Dame Street, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
5:34 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and the registration plates were seized;
5:39 p.m.: suspicious person, a detective supervisor reports he spoke with a resident who said that her 11-year-old daughter had “chatted” with a male party on a social networking website who used obscene language and made inappropriate sexual suggestions, the detective reports the case was referred to special victims detective for investigation;
5:57 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:05 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter, the responding officer reports an employee said that a female party was seen stashing merchandise in her purse and, after she exited the store, passed the merchandise to a male party who then entered the store and attempted to return the merchandise with an old receipt, the woman was found to be in possession of additional merchandise, Kristen N. Hackett, 26, of 9 Sackett St., was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise, Jeffrey J. Beauregard, 51, of 13 Belmont St., was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise, a joint venture;
8:13 p.m.: found property, Meadows Apartments, 101 Meadow St., a community policing officer reports his investigation into a bicycle reported stolen June 20 led him to speak with a juvenile who admitted stealing the bike and said that he gave it to a friend, the officer spoke with the second boy who showed him where the bike was, the bicycle was returned to its rightful owner;
8:20 p.m.: fire, Conner Avenue, a caller reports thick black smoke, the responding firefighters report a resident who has been advised previously about burning regulations was found to be burning a mattress and other trash, the case was referred to the fire prevention officer for possible sanctions;
11:38 p.m.: suspicious person, Steiger Drive, a caller reports four youths were in his pool and when he accosted them they taunted him as they fled, the respond officer reports one of the boys involved was located and identified, the boy identified two of the other youths involved.
