6:53 a.m.: disturbance, Rachael Terrace, a caller reports a family member is out-of-control and becoming violent, the responding officer reports the caller said that the man had attempted to hit other family members with a large vase but had left the area, the residents were advised of their protective order options, no charges were filed;
10:08 a.m.: breaking and entering, Orange Street, a resident came to the station to report his vehicle was broken into, the responding office reports the complainant said that he forgot to lock the SUV when he parked it in his driveway and sometime after 7 p.m. it was entered and a cell phone, about $20 in coin and medications were stolen;
10:52 a.m.: arrest, East Main Street, a caller reports the location of a person officers had been seeking earlier, the responding officers report the subject was found and an outstanding warrant was confirmed, Dave A. Laguer, 22, of no known address, was arrested on the warrant;
11:07 a.m.: breaking and entering, Elm Street, the owner of an Elm Street bar reports his business was entered overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that a video game valued at $4,000 which contained about $200 in cash was stolen, the man said that there were no signs of forcible entry but he believes the door may not have been properly secured;
11:17 a.m.: found property, Court Street, a person brought to the station an empty wallet found in the City Hall parking lot, the wallet was held for safe keeping;
11:28 a.m.: suspicious activity, Raymond Circle, a caller reports that his hot tub was used overnight and fouled with grass and dirt, in addition his children’s toys were disturbed, the caller does not require a formal report but wants the incident documented;
1:23 p.m.: larceny, Broadway Street, a caller reports her GPS device was stolen from her vehicle overnight, the caller does not require a formal report but wants her loss documented;
2:14 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Dubois Street, a caller reports harassing phone calls from her child’s father, the responding officer reports the woman said the man has been calling her because he is upset about their child custody arrangements, the woman said that she had spoke with the community policing officer for the neighborhood and after the officer called the man he caller her again and threatened her, the responding officer reports he called the man and warned him of the criminal charges which may be field if his calls continue;
6:24 p.m.: vandalism, Murray Avenue, a caller reports her vehicle was again vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said that on numerous occasions mustard has been smeared on her vehicle and she has reported the incidents, the officer reports that the caller had cleaned the vehicle prior to his arrival as she has done in the past, the officer reports that the contaminant may actually be bird droppings, the caller said that she is going to set up a camera to gather evidence, the officer said that he would ask for additional patrols of the area;
8:16 p.m.: arrest, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., a detective reports that while interviewing a person about an unrelated matter he became aware that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Richard F. Guyott Jr., 45, of 138 Cabot Road, was arrested on the warrant;
8:36 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Fowler Street, a traffic bureau officer reports he encountered a parked vehicle with expired and non-renewable registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:35 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Fowler Street, a traffic bureau officer reports he encountered a vehicle with registration revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:02 p.m.: recovered property, a caller reports a she has located on Hancock Street a bicycle she had earlier reported to have been stolen, the responding officer reports the bike was found in the yard at a Hancock Street address and positively identified, the bicycle was returned to its rightful owner and the residents denied knowledge of the bike, the officer found that the resident who was the most likely suspect was not at home, that youth subsequently came to the station and said that he had found the bike with a flat tire on Elm Street;
11:16 p.m.: larceny, Meadows Apartments, 34 Meadow Street, a caller reports his vehicle was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that the vehicle was in place at 11 p.m. when his wife left for work but was found to be missing about 15 minutes later, the man said that the car had been locked and he still has the keys, a caller from Fowler Street reported about 7 a.m. that a parked car was blocking her driveway, the responding officer reports the offending vehicle was the one which had been stolen and a spare key was found in the ignition, the owner said that a spare key had been kept in the center console.
