12:42 a.m.: disturbance, Cleveland Ave., a caller reports a known person is banging on his door and throwing stones at his window, the responding officer reports the caller said that he had allowed the woman to stay at his home with the stipulation that she be there at a reasonable hour, the man declined to admit the woman and told the officer she could return for her property at a reasonable hour;
1:48 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Mill Street at Paper Street, a patrol officer requests a check for a motor vehicle operator, the officer was advised that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Julian Michael Villan, 33, of 1 Oak St., was arrested on a warrant issued in 2014 by Westfield District Court;
2:55 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, Western Avenue, WSU police request the use of a cell for a person arrested for motor vehicle violations, a cell monitor was provided;
8:16 a.m.: breaking and entering, Whitaker Road, a caller reports he awoke to find an intruder in his apartment, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
9:44 a.m.: larceny, Granville Road, a caller reports heavy equipment parked at a job site was vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said that locks were cut to gain access to batteries and battery cables were cut in order to remove them, seven batteries were stolen;
11:02 a.m.: sound property, East Main Street, a construction worker reports discovering a safe which had been forcibly opened underneath one of the national guard bridges, the responding officer reports the safe had apparently been thrown from the bridge with the possible intention of dumping it into the river, the door of the safe was missing but was found a short distance away;
11:49 a.m.: found property, Westfield District Court, 224 Elm St., a court officer reports a bicycle has been left on court property for more than a week, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safekeeping;
1:07 p.m.: found property, West Suffield, Connecticut, a businessman with a store in West Suffield came to the station to surrender a driver’s license which belongs to a Westfield Resident and was found in his Connecticut store, the responding officer reports he was unable to immediately contact the owner and the license was stored for safekeeping;
1:37 p.m.: disturbance, East Main Street, the owner of a pizza restaurant reports he has a live video feed from the restaurant and can see a man is creating a disturbance with an employee, the responding officer reports the clerk said that she is being stalked by a former boyfriend, the man had left the restaurant but the officer found him nearby and advised him that the woman does not want speak with him, the woman was advised of her options to seek an abuse prevention order;
5:37 p.m.: animal complaint, Elm Street, the property manager of an apartment building reports a pit bull dog in the rear stairwell of the building is not owned by any resident, the responding assistant manager of animal control operations reports the brindled female dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;i
7:48 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Avenue, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without a valid inspection sticker, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, William Delgado, 31, of 7 Prospect St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker.
