11:10 a.m.: assist citizen, Greenwood Street, a caller requests an officer to keep the peace during an exchange of property, the officer reports the items were transferred without incident;
2:29 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, the manager of animal control operations reports a cat in a carrier was abandoned at the shelter;
5:20 p.m.: a resident came to the station to report threatening messages from his former girlfriend’s new boyfriend, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
6:50 p.m.: animal complaint, Elm Street, a caller reports that three dogs have been tied at entrance to a store and are alarming customers as they enter, the responding officer reports that the dogs appeared to be friendly and the owner moved them from the entrance;
8:19 p.m.: unwanted guest, East Main Street, a caller from a frozen yogurt shop reports a youth who threw coffee at the front windows last time he was asked to leave the shop has returned and refuses to leave, the responding officer reports the young man was disrespectful and treated the ‘No trespassing’ order he was served with as a joke, the officer explained the consequences of violating the order;
11:04 p.m.: animal complaint, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a community policing officer reports a resident said that he was approached by a loose dog while he was outside with his dog, the CPO reports she was able to identify the stray dog’s owner and advised her to be more careful to keep her dog confined.
