9:52 a.m.: Suspicious (other) and arrest, Michael Drive. Police received a report from an off-duty officer of a minivan that went into the backyard of a property on Michael Drive. The property previously had a fire and was being reconstructed, according to the report. Police reported that two parties were detained at the location. Police eventually reported arresting Eduard Kostyushko, 26, of Westfield, and Ihar Stepanov Kot, 37, of West Springfield. Kostyushko was charged with breaking and entering building daytime for felony and trespass, and Kot was charged with breaking and entering building daytime for felony, possession class A drug and trespass.

10:15 a.m.: Accident, South Broad Street and West Silver Street. Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident. A 2011 Toyota Highlander and a 2011 Kia Sorrento were involved. No injuries reported and no tow trucks requested.

1:08 p.m.: Robbery and arrest, East Main Street. Police received a report that a person was to exchange someone a cellular phone that they arranged through a mobile app. According to the alleged victim, a male had allegedly pulled up at the determined meeting place, got out of the vehicle and “ripped the phone” out of the alleged victim’s hands and fled the scene. A license place was provided to the police, as well as a description. Police later reported that Jacob J. Baez, 28, of West Springfield, was arrested in West Springfield and charged with unarmed robbery.

3:54 p.m.: Accident, Holyoke Road. Police received a report of a vehicle that struck a pole. No injuries were initially reported but vehicle was in a ditch. Black ice was reportedly the cause, according to police. A tow truck was requested and later, Westfield Fire ambulance and personnel transported one person to Baystate Noble Hospital.
