6:45 a.m.: breaking and entering, Evergreen Manor, 919 Southampton Road, a caller reports she and her friend awoke to find property in her apartment had been moved and things are missing, the responding officer reports that the caller said that when she discovered things out-of-place she investigated further and found that a modem, jewelry and medications went missing since she went to sleep about 11 p.m.;
8:06 a.m.: assist other agency, Franklin Avenue, a an officer was detailed to execute a warrant of apprehension at the request of Westfield District Court, the officer reports the subject of the warrant was transported to the court;
9:04 a.m.: illegal dumping, South Broad Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a pair of automotive tires which had been discarded by the side of the road;
9:44 a.m.: animal complaint, Southwick Animal Shelter, 11 Deport St., Southwick, the manager of animal control operations reports she traveled to Southwick to take custody of a Westfield dog which had been held there;
10:29 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports he was advised of a bomb threat, the SRO reports he found that the apparent threat had been written on a bathroom wall for about a month and the time of the threatened detonation had long passed;
11:31 a.m.: violation of a city ordinance, Elm Street, a worker reports he moved barrels of fryer grease stored behind an Elm Street restaurant and an employee came out, yelled at him and kicked a barrel over spilling oil in the parking lot, the responding officer reports he stayed on the scene to ensure the safety of others on the slippery ground and the health inspector responded to deal with the restaurant management, the DPW responded to clean up the spilled oil;
3:46 p.m.: identity fraud, 126 Union Street, a resident came to the station to complain that she is being dunned by a collection agency for merchandise ordered in her name at her former residence, the responding officer reports the woman said that a collection agency attempted to collect for merchandise delivered to her former residence in 2012 long after she moved out;
4:43 p.m.: traffic complaint, Shaker Road, a caller reports a skateboarder wearing a brown plaid shirt is in a fetal position in the middle of Shaker Road, the responding officer reports the “skateboarder” was found to be a brown plaid seat cushion which had been moved to the side of the road before the officer arrived;
6:04 p.m.: disturbance, East Mountain Road, a caller reports that she went to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project to adopt a kitten and was pushed out of the building by an employee when an argument ensued, the responding officer reports he found that the woman had seen a kitten on the project’s website and traveled there from Rochdale without contacting the staff at the project, the officer was told the woman caused a scene when she learned that the kitten was no longer available and, after placing her children in her car, attempted to return to yell at the employees but became angry when her path was blocked;
8:38 p.m.: vandalism, Springfield Road, a caller reports his car was scratched with a nail at a Springfield Road parking lot, the responding officer reports the man said that his brand-new car was scratched between 7:30-8 p.m., the store’s security video will be reviewed;
8:43 p.m.: vandalism, Atwater Street, a caller reports that his Christmas lights have been cut for the second time, the responding officer reports the caller knew of no reason why his decorations were vandalized and could not identify a suspect;
9:42 p.m.: vandalism, White Street, a caller reports that two people threw snow at a window and broke it, the responding officer reports the caller said that the suspects had left the area and nobody fitting their descriptions were found in an area search.
